BIMI Record Checker

Look up the BIMI record for any domain and find out whether inbox providers will actually show your logo: record syntax, logo URL, VMC certificate, and the DMARC enforcement BIMI depends on.

What this checks

Record presence

Looks up the TXT record at default._bimi.yourdomain.com.

Tag validation

Verifies v=BIMI1, the SVG logo URL, and the VMC certificate tag.

DMARC enforcement

Checks that DMARC policy is quarantine or reject, which BIMI requires.

BIMI explained

Your logo in the inbox is earned, not uploaded.

BIMI is the reward at the end of proper email authentication. It only works on top of enforced DMARC, which itself depends on aligned SPF and DKIM.

01

DMARC first

Move to p=quarantine or p=reject before touching BIMI. Nothing displays without it.

02

SVG Tiny PS

The logo must be a square SVG in the restricted Tiny PS profile, served over HTTPS.

03

VMC for reach

A Verified Mark Certificate unlocks Gmail and Apple Mail. Yahoo works without one.

FAQ

BIMI questions.

What is a BIMI record?

BIMI (Brand Indicators for Message Identification) is a TXT record at default._bimi.yourdomain.com that points mailbox providers at your brand logo, so it can be displayed next to your messages in the inbox.

Why does BIMI require DMARC enforcement?

Providers only show your logo when they can trust the message really came from you. That means a DMARC policy of quarantine or reject. With p=none, BIMI is ignored.

Do I need a VMC certificate?

For Gmail and Apple Mail, yes: a Verified Mark Certificate (or Common Mark Certificate) proves you own the logo. Yahoo displays BIMI logos without one. VMCs are issued by certificate authorities like DigiCert and Entrust.
